The Ikebana International Cagayan de Oro Chapter 163 held another enriching workshop focusing on the variations of Moribana and Nageire arrangements. This session provided members with an opportunity to enhance their skills and deepen their appreciation of Sogetsu-style Ikebana.
The workshop featured insightful demonstrations by two esteemed mentors.
Sensei Tilo Aberasturi expertly guided members through the “Hanging and Fan Styles of Moribana” showcasing refined techniques and artistic principles. Meanwhile, Sensei Eileen San Juan led the demonstration on Slanting and Cascading Styles of Nageire, sharing her expertise and dynamic approach to floral arrangement. Their engaging presentations allowed participants to grasp the fundamental techniques and creative possibilities of each style.
A total of 30 members actively participated in the workshop, each producing exquisite arrangements that reflected their learnings. The event served as a platform for artistic exploration and skill refinement, reinforcing the chapter’s commitment to continuous learning and creative expression in Ikebana.
Adding to the event’s significance, President Erna Maagad presented tokens of appreciation to members who contributed to the success of the August exhibition. Special recognition was given to the organizing team, led by Eileen E. San Juan, for their dedication and efforts in making the previous event a success.
